MicroEssentials Home
MicroEssentials™ SZ provides nutrients that are combined in a patented production process. Every MicroEssentials SZ granule contains four vital nutrients — nitrogen (12%), phosphorus (40%), zinc (1%) and sulfur (10%) — all more evenly distributed than separate applications. Phosphorus, sulfur and zinc are in a proper ratio that benefits most crops, due to key nutrient interactions, and makes them more available and easier for plants to use throughout the growing season!

MicroEssentials SZ single granular nutrients get spread across the field more uniformly than is possible when the nutrients are added separately in a blend. Component segregation of these four nutrients is eliminated.

Zinc is a critical micronutrient for proper plant function in crops such as corn and wheat. Test results show the majority of soils throughout the corn belt are lacking adequate zinc. Addition of zinc sulfate can be expensive unlike most forms of zinc oxide that are not readily available to the plants, sulfonated zinc oxide in MicroEssentials SZ is highly available.

Sulfur Availability and UptakeA Unique Crop Nutrient System
MicroEssentials SZ fertilizer is designed to supply P2O5, sulfur and zinc in every granule in the right ratio and at the right time. It delivers a high rate of phosphorus with two forms of sulfur — the sulfate form, which is available immediately to developing roots, and the elemental form, which becomes available later in the growing season.

MicroEssentials SZ uniformly quenchs your crop's hunger for certain micronutrients. The roots of your plants must find needed nutrients that are scattered across large areas. With MicroEssentials SZ, every granule contains four essential nutrients and can be placed near developing roots.

Plants start out faster because MicroEssentials SZ delivers nitrogen the way research proves young plants prefer it — in the ammonium form. This means plants are less dependent on weather and get off to a faster start!

MicroEssentials SZ Increases Plant Nutrient Uptake
Key nutrient interactions between P:S and P:Zn help plants take up more nutrients
Phosphorus leaf concentration increases 10 to 30%
Sulfur leaf concentration increases10 to 42%
Zinc leaf concentration increases 10 to 45%

12 Times More Zinc!

Plant roots can make contact with 12 times more zinc granules with MicroEssentials SZ versus zinc alone.
Typical Zinc Blend MicroEssentials SZ
Typical Zinc Blend
Zinc as granules in bulk blend
through broadcast application (5 lbs/A Zn).
MicroEssentials SZ
Zinc incorporated in phosphate fertilizer
(65 lbs/A P2O5 and 1.6 lbs/A Zn).

Patented Process
During the manufacturing process, sulfur and zinc are added and forms partial layers around a developing granule.

Sulfur and zinc appear in veins as in this illustration. Zinc is not very mobile in soil solution. When added as granules in bulk blends, much of their benefit is lost as plants must seek out the sparse sulfur granules across large areas. When incorporated in phosphate fertilizer, sulfur and zinc-containing granules are uniformly distributed and readily available to plants.
